“Things are gonna change around here. Just you wait, mister” (Every good Western film)
What am I talking about? Have I lost it (possibly, but lets not pull on that thread). This week, in a caffeine fuelled haze, I decided to completely change up and get rid of (kill?) the ‘ Neil M White Newsletter ‘.
Why? (don’t say “it sucked”)
Because we all need to move on and move up. And lately I’ve become much more interested in stories and story telling. Have you ever noticed that AI can’t really tell stories. It can only copy what it thinks are stories and clobbers them together. That’s why long form, story telling is forever - or at least until the robots take over.
Don’t get me wrong. I’m not a luddite. I’ve been a reasonably early adopter of AI, I use AI every day. But I want this to be connection between me and you - not in a weird way - but it in a way that just make you smile (are you smiling now?) or be shocked or someother emotion.
And so I’ve rebranded to White Hot Takes - I’ve redesigned my site so it doesn’t look like a clone of my old This Dad Does blog (still own the domain, could still bring it back, jokes… or am I????)
It’s going to be stories about great thinkers, incredible breakthroughs (think science, AI, tech, finance, sports) and the darker side of success. I might share some of my journey of the last 25 through addictions, obsession and out into the light again.
